Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using the Lambali School Portal ("the App") or visiting https://lambali.in ("the Website"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms").
If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the App or Website. Your continued use of the service after any changes to these Terms constitutes acceptance of those changes.
These Terms apply to: Parents and guardians using the Lambali Parent Portal app, and school administrators using the Lambali desktop software and admin panel.

Service Description
Lambali provides school management software including:
- Lambali Lite — Offline desktop software for school administration (student records, fees, certificates, reports).
- Lambali Pro — Full-featured desktop software including attendance tracking and the Parent Portal.
- Parent Portal App — A mobile web application (PWA) allowing parents to view their child's attendance, fee status, and school information.
The service is provided to schools in India as a licensed product. Features available to parents depend on the edition purchased by their school.

Eligibility
To use the Parent Portal, you must:
- Be a parent or guardian of a student enrolled at a school using Lambali Pro.
- Have a valid Indian mobile number registered with the school.
- Be at least 18 years of age.
School administrators must be authorised staff of a school holding a valid Lambali license.

Accounts & Registration
When you register for the Parent Portal:
- Your mobile number is automatically verified against the school's student database.
- You set a password and a 4-digit PIN for quick access.
- Your PIN is valid for 30 days; after that, you must re-verify your password.
- You are responsible for keeping your password and PIN confidential.
Account deletion: You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete My Account inside the app. This removes your login credentials and session data. Your child's school records remain with the school.
Lambali reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

Data & Privacy
Your privacy matters to us. Here is a plain-language summary of how data works:
- School data (student names, attendance, fees) is stored on the school's Lambali software and synced to our server only when the school enables the Parent Portal.
- Parent account data (mobile number, hashed password, hashed PIN, session tokens) is stored on our server at
lambali.in.
- We do not sell your data to third parties.
- We do not serve advertising in the Parent Portal app.
- Attendance and academic records belong to the school, not to Lambali.

Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Share your account credentials with anyone else.
- Attempt to access another parent's account or another student's records.
- Use automated tools, bots, or scripts to interact with the service.
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or tamper with the software.
- Use the service for any unlawful purpose.
Tampering with license keys or attempting to bypass the license verification system is a violation of these Terms and may result in permanent account and license termination without refund.

School Responsibility
Schools that purchase Lambali software are responsible for:
- Ensuring student and parent data entered into the system is accurate.
- Informing parents that their data will be used for the Parent Portal.
- Keeping their Lambali license active to maintain Parent Portal access.
- Notifying Lambali if their device is lost, stolen, or replaced (for license re-activation).
If a school's Lambali Pro license expires, the Parent Portal will become inaccessible to that school's parents until the license is renewed.

Intellectual Property
All software, code, design, logos, and content created by Lambali are the intellectual property of Lambali. The purchase of a license grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the software for its intended purpose.
You may not copy, redistribute, resell, or create derivative works from Lambali software without written permission.

Disclaimers
The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. Lambali does not guarantee:
- Uninterrupted or error-free operation of the app or website.
- That data displayed in the Parent Portal is real-time; it reflects what the school has synced.
- Specific uptime levels for the server-side Parent Portal features.
Lambali Lite and Lambali Pro desktop software operates fully offline. Any server-dependent features (Parent Portal sync, license verification) require an active internet connection.

Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Lambali shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of revenue, or business interruption.
In any case, Lambali's total liability to you shall not exceed the amount paid by the school for the Lambali license in the twelve months preceding the claim.

Termination
You may stop using the service at any time. Parents may delete their account from within the app (Settings → Delete My Account).
Lambali may suspend or terminate access if:
- A school's license expires or is revoked.
- There is evidence of fraud, abuse, or violation of these Terms.
- We discontinue the service (with reasonable notice where possible).
Termination does not entitle you to a refund of license fees already paid.
